A few random thoughts for you:
1. It's super-HOT outside!
2. We are seriously considering getting ourselves a mini-van. I know, I know, I said I would NEVER get one, but never say never, right? We just don't have enough space as it is right now. So, friends that have them, what do you like/dislike? What kinds do you have/wish you had instead of what you have? I need opinions!
3. Since I have had Claire and started nursing again, I have read almost 4 books. One of them was almost 800 pages long (Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows--totally awesome, by the way!). Since she's 4 weeks old, that averages out to be about one book a week. I'm getting low on books I have at my house that I haven't read yet. Any suggestions?
4. I changed some stuff on my blog. It's probably so little of a difference that you can't even tell, but I think I like it better.
5. I'm considering getting a swing for Claire. I have one of those "Take Along" portable swings that was a hand-me-down from someone at church, but you can't really put a tiny baby in it because it props them up too much. For those friends that have swings for their little ones, do think they're worth it and what type do you have/what type do you like?
I hope everyone's having a blessed week! Love to all~

LOL, OMG-I can't believe you actually said those words!! (Minivan)
My friend Lauri, with 3 kids, LOVES LOVES LOVES her Odyssey. She said she could write a commercial, so I'll have her email you her reasons for getting an Odyssey. She, too, swore she'd never be seen in a minivan!

Random Answers:
1. It is super hot outside.
2. Minivans are awesome for space. I'm not fond of driving it but the space in the back is great. I do wish I had the nifty storage some of them have but the extra leg room is nice.
3. I do like your changes.
4. Put Claire in the swing laying down across the bottom sideways. Ryland did that for a long time until he outgrew that method and was big enough to sit correctly in it.
More random answers.
1. I'd complain about the heat, but it's not raining for a change.
2. Tyler and I just test drove a new Sienna, and we really liked it. We really liked the ease of folding down the back seat to where it sat in the trunk. It had a lot of space, and we're big Toyota fans. I have heard that the Odyssey is the way to go, but it's also "top of the line" money wise. I think the only van that has the floor board cargo compartments (like in Star Wars) is the Dodge Caravan. We once drove those on a school trip, but felt they weren't as spacious as other mini vans.
4. We borrowed Harmony's travel swing with Keynan, and I think I put something next to him to support him in the portable swing like a rolled up blanket or a small pillow.
Oops. I forgot to sign my name, and I also forgot to say something about books. HP7 was totally awesome. A really good book that I read recently is called "The Glass Castle." You will find it in the non-fiction or biography section. I read it in one night. Tyler just read "Through Painted Deserts" by Donald Miller and really liked it. Anything by Barbara Kingsolver is good, and I've heard really good things about "Kite Runner," but I haven't been able to read it yet.
Love ya,

1. Global warming, so says Jen.
2. Minivan? Seriously? Come on. At least get one of those half-car, half-SUV/minivan things.
3. My favorite!!!! Books to read - Evening (Susan Minot); Reading lolita in Tehran (Azar Nafisi); anything by Nora Roberts for good romance (especially the MacGregors); Candide (Voltaire - surprisingly not as hard as I expected); Kite Runner - AWESOME - (Khaled Hosseini) These are just some of them ... I'll expand later.
4. I'm sorry, I didn't notice.
5. I don't know anything about babyswings. I do know that they rarely put swings in modern playgrounds for safety reasons and I think that is very sad.

Hmmm... I just have to say, you don't know about not having enough space until you don't own a car and travel everywhere with just a stroller/backpack!! But, seriously, a car DOES get pretty full when it's jammed with two carseats, toys, snacks, diaper bags, etc. Sorrry, I can't give you any minivan advice, but I have ridden in Jared's MawMaw's Odyssey and it is pretty awesome...pricey though.
I'm a huge reader and could give you a lot of suggestions, but if you like light reading/mysteries AND cooking, Diane Mott Davidson's Goldy series is great. But, don't count on being able to keep up on all the reading. Once they stop sleeping so much it's a lot harder to keep up with both kiddos (in my humble opinion!).
Finally, we have the Fisher Price Aquarium Cradle Swing and it is SO great. Max is still enjoying it at 4 months and will sleep in it when he's really fussy, which is a huge plus.
Hope things are giong peachy for you all! Been thinking about you a lot!

Well I'm probably the last one to comment but...
(1) It's only 80 in Idaho :)
(2) I've been thinking about the minivan myself. Ahhhh, I feel old. My sister-in-law loves her Sienna.
(3)Wow 4 books. She must be a good baby :)
(4) Nice job.
(5) If you do a swing with such a little one I would highly recommend using a "Noggin Nest" put out by Boppy. I'll mail you mine if you want as I'll never use it again. But Natalie spent a little too much time in swings and carseats and her head got a little flat in the back (still is - oops) But with Sarah her ped. recommended the Noggin Nest to protect her head, and it kept her in place and protected her head and is nice and soft. Anyway, sounds a little weird, but I was glad I used it. Otherwise, my swing was a lifesaver with two kiddos.
Take care,
Melissa
