Waxing Gibbous

"Waxing gibbous" is the term our preacher likes to use for us pregnant ladies. So here I am "waxing gibbous" at 21 weeks and 4 days.

Hope everyone has had a happy St. Patty's Day :)

What in the world does that mean? You look cute!

"Waxing gibbous" is a phase of the moon. "Waxing" is an old term for "growing" or "increasing." "Gibbous" means that the moon (or a pregnant belly in this case!) is more than half-full, but not quite a full moon.

Our preacher talks about the phasing of the moon when doing sermons about the week leading up to Christ's crucifixion (something about the first full moon after the first new moon after the Vernal Equinox). That's probably way more info than you wanted, but maybe that explains it a little :)

ahh...the moon. Well now I am educated. I knew I had heard those words before, but couldn't quite place them. Well you learn something new everyday!

how cute your little tummy is!!! you are in my favorite stage of pregnancy! That fun part when you can eat a ton and you're not quite so moody and you're still relatively comfortable! How are you feeling? Any names for baby girl Prather yet?

Marta,

Funny you should mention about eating a ton...I feel like I am constantly shoving food into my mouth (or wanting to, at least!) 24/7! It is a good part of pregnancy...I really am not too uncomfortable yet, but I can feel those days coming!

Names...ah, names! We are fairly sure what we want the middle name to be, but aren't so sure about the first name. I'm not sure I want to announce to everyone "the name" yet, but I am open to suggestions...suggest away, friends! Let's see what you can come up with! (Naming girls is so much more fun than naming boys--there are just way more names to choose from!)

Oh so cute! Have you gotten bigger faster this time than you did with Will? That's how I was. I don't think I saw you at this point with Will so I was just wondering.
As for girl names, you could always name her Carrie! ;)

You look precious!

That's so funny, I was just looking back at all of my prego pics and they are from the neck down, too! I don't know that it was necessarily intentional...just the best view of the belly, I guess! I feel better now, knowing that someone has a whole series of "headless" pics too:)

Will you have maternity pictures done?
